Is Flash still Relevant and Other Web Tech Trends

I'd really like to get an insider idea on what web technologies out in the job market right now are going to help me in finding a job in web design /development. What are businesses looking for in new web hires, specifically in Huntsville?

Specifically, how relevant is Flash / Actionscript? With the push for more accessibility on-line and so many alternatives for animation, is Flash still relevant?

I have heard 2 differing theories about where Flash (Actionscript, Flex etc.) is headed at least locally:

1. Apparently in the web-world its on its way out? I guess if you factor in competing technologies and accessibility, Flash is going away, or so I've heard.
2. However, what I have heard as far as the job market in Huntsville goes is that alot of employers are looking for skilled Flash developers.

How is this? Are employers just not up to date on web trends (and Flash's difficulty with accessibility), or am I missing something?
