Writing, Creating & Producing The Sketchnote Handbook

Mike Rohde (@rohdesign) shares the process of creating his book, The Sketchnote Handbook, from written word, to pencil sketches, inked artwork, and final production art. He'll share images and stories of the 7-month book creation process, followed by Q&A afterward.

This session was unique and especially helpful because it provided an insider look at the entire process of getting a creative book published. Because the experience was documented, through images and notes, as the phases occurred, the result was an accurate historical reference of the process that could be shared. I feel like I gained a richer understanding of the writer's perspective from attending this session.

Excellent meetup. I totally enjoyed Mike's behind the scenes account of creating and producing the Sketchnote Handbook. And, I'm looking forward to getting the book and Sketchnoting myself.

Why are these almost always on the same nights as the StartupMKE meetups? I feel like there could be a lot of crowd overlap between the two groups, and it would beneficial to coordinate so they don't conflict.

Agreed. Web414 has been second Thursday forever and we have the space booked at Bucketworks each month. I'd like if they weren't the same night.

StartupMKE created the conflict, not Web414. It's something I mentioned back when they started, but they apparently didn't feel Web414 folks would contribute enough to their meetings to care about it. Understand your complaint, but you're taking it up with the wrong group.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
