It was a great learning experience. It was good hearing about C5 and Sitecore, and MODx. Before this meetup I heard most about Drupal, Joomla, and the one I use, WordPress.

Not as dramatic and explosive as it could have been. :-) But still super awesome and informative! After seeing CMS's like ModX and Concrete5, it's really reaffirmed my opinion that Drupal isn't a CMS and gave me some cool ideas for interfaces to give clients in the future. Thanks to all the panelists!

Not that I'm aware of! But anything is possible. :-)

Engaging, entertaining and informative. I actually marveled at how articulate and outright polished everyone's presentations were. Nicely done! Dusty's intro was super-fun and well-executed.

WordPress was the clear winner to me. :)

I was surprised to see how much the different platforms had in common. I am thinking that web software has evolved to reflect what users want: html provided a basic, one-way communications vehicle; asp and ColdFusion provided access to large sets of fluid information; and now CMS platforms reflect the need for collaboration and community. What do you think the web will need NEXT, and what platform will be best able to meet the need?

Very good opportunity to see the strengths of the various CMS's - I've mentally named them Fast, Easy, Enterprise, Customizable, Responsive, and ... I ran out of descriptions for Concrete5. Maybe Swiss Army Knife? BTW - I talked to a few people about what I do, but wanted the list to be aware that I work as an owner's rep for companies who want someone to help them develop a strategy, write an RFP and send it out to the appropriate developers for bids. I'm interested in having contact information for developers who would like to be considered for projects. Email me at [masked] with a short description of your services (not everything under the sun, just what you do best, please). I would love to work with local developers when possible. :) Megan

WordPress is so awesome, people will use it later, even with a super crappy intro.

What about our local Titan CMS. That was really entertaining last time they were on the panel

I should clarify the accusation is patently untrue. I have never lived in KevRon's parents' basement.

I asked the to participate, but unfortunately they had other obligations tonight.

I joined the panel a little late (this morning) but I'll be representing for MODX. I talked to a friend at MODXCloud.com and got everyone 15% their first year if you want to use them. Developer accounts are free I believe. Just in case I forget to mention it tonight!

We will stream it live and it will also be available on YouTube afterwards. I'll post the URL here closer to 7pm.

I'm not dating a CMS, I'm in an open source relationship. ;) I've personally and professionally contributed to each project of the open source projects one way or another. Open Source and community isn't something I try for, it is something I embrace!

Hey! Since this is about CMS's and Drupal is (supposedly) a CMS - please come see my presentation about Drupal 8 at Drupal414 on Thursday, April 25th:

    http://www.meetup.com/Drupal414/events/113359982/

That way you can get some early intel on Drupal for when you're arguing on behalf of your favorite competitor. ;-)

    Hope to see you there!
