Description

Now we're getting to the nuts and bolts of web sites: server side coding! Maybe you've built some static pages up to this point, but what if you want to have users log in to store information about them? You're going to need a way to communicate with your server and a database to store that information. That's where PHP comes in. PHP is one of the most common web programming languages and we'll use it to learn how to build robust, dynamic, content-filled sites that help you get, store, and manage the data you need to keep your users happy and coming back for more.

Dates

Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm (Doors open at 6pm for set-up/good-seat-getting!)

Class 1 Feb 15: Learn what server side coding is and take your first steps in PHP.

Class 2 Feb 22: So much PHP! We'll keep plugging away at it.

Class 3 Feb 29: Database time! Learn how to create, read, update, and delete information in a MySQL database.

Class 4 March 7: Pull all the pieces together with a sample application.

All the notes and slides for the course will be available online for you to use during and after the class.

Please bring photo ID. Upon entering 1 Broadway, you will need to check in with the security guard in the lobby. Your full payment for this course ($95) is paid upfront at the first class and reserves you a spot for the entirety of the course. We accept cash, check, or Venmo.
