Hiya all!

For this class we're going to take a break from programming ('cept for a little HTML) and focus a bit on the content and business side of things. That means no need to bring your laptop, unless that's how you like to take notes.

SEO. Three little letters that get thrown around a lot in the web business world. If you've ever wondered how you can start seeing your site closer to the top of search engine results, you've probably come across them.

You know what a search engine is and optimization is almost always a good thing, but what does it really mean with regards to your website? And better yet, why should you spend your precious time doing it?

In this class, we'll cover what we've learned from experience about the honest, content-driven way to get your site in the browsers of the users who are looking for it. There are no silver bullets - just clear advice on title tags, meta tags, urls, keywords, site organization, and most importantly, content. It's not a magic potion, just a recipe for reaching your site's best potential; these elements combined won't help you game Google, but they will work with Google to get you closer to where you want to be.

Access

Doors open at 6pm. Please bring photo ID. Upon entering 1 Broadway you'll check in with security. Tell them you're visiting the 14th floor.

Once you depart the elevator you'll find glass doors that are locked. If one of us is not there waiting to open the door, call Nicole @ (910) 233-5748 and we'll come let you in.

Payment

The total cost for the course is $30.

You'll pay a $5 deposit when you RSVP via Meetup.com; because we have limited space, this is to save your spot in the class.

Then, the remaining $25 will be paid at the first class. We accept cash or PayPal; there is a $5 discount for cash payments.
