Hello WhyNot Adventurers

Lois and Don want to be sure we remember the Grand River Canoe/Kayak Race.

Many of us have attended this event for the last several years and have always had a great time. The Grand River Canoe and Kayak Race is an annual springtime tradition. The "Race" is an 8½-mile canoe and kayak race from the Harpersfield Dam (located in the Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark) to Hidden Valley Park (in Madison) on the wild and scenic Grand River.

Remember: This is a race only if you want to make it a race. Most of us use it as an opportunity to get out on the water and begin the kayaking season.

Details for registration, events, start times, shuttle schedule and a all other information is found on the web site linked below.

"Please RSVP or respond with an email so we can look for you." Lois

Thank you Lois for keeping us alerted.

Directions

Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark (http://www.lakemetroparks.com/programs/GrandRiverCanoeandKayakRace.shtml) is near the intersection of Interstate 90 & State Route 534. (This is also the exit for Geneva-on-the-Lake and many Ashtabula County wineries.) Turn south on SR 534 for about a mile to the intersection of SR 307 at the bottom of a long hill. Turn right (west) and then turn left (south) at the next intersection . . . down the hill to the Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark.
