Details

Have you ever wanted to host a Wikipedia editing party, but don't know how to get one going? On June 25, the New England Wikimedians will host an hourlong informational session on how to run a Wikipedia edit-a-thon, followed by an evening of editing articles focused on women's history and cultural issues. The latter part of the event will be held in memory of noted Wikipeidan Adrianne Wadewitz, who passed away in April. This is one of about a dozen such events being held across North America this spring: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wadewitz_Tribute_Edit-a-thons

Further details on our event page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Boston/How_to_Run_an_Edit-a-thon/Adrianne_Wadewitz_Memorial_Edit-a-thon

While we definitely welcome newcomers to Wikipedia, this particular evening will assume a basic understanding of Wikipedia markup language and how to communicate across Wikimedia projects with other users.

Refreshments will be served.
