Wikipedia is one of the ten most-trafficked websites in the world and often the first place people turn to when curious about a topic. However, articles on LGBTQ issues, rights, people, places and organizations are often lacking. Join us to learn how you can help improve Wikipedia's LGBTQ coverage and how to get started on Wikipedia in general.
This introductory workshop will cover the basics of creating and editing Wikipedia articles, will help you make edits to a set of LGBTQ-related articles that need some work, as well as provide a guide for you to find articles that need assistance in the future.
This event is open to the entire community and is limited to 20 people. Please bring your own WiFi-enabled laptop. WiFi access and refreshments will be provided.
How to get there:
The Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) office is in downtown Boston, at 30 Winter St. on the 8th Floor
(in between the Downtown Crossing and Park Street T stops; enter the building from Winter Pl. across from Planet Fitness)
