May meeting. Discussion topic: Conflict of Interest

For our May meeting, we will discuss navigating Conflict of Interest. Wikipedia and COI in the PR world was a recent topic (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Statement_on_Wikipedia_from_participating_communications_firms/info) at SXSW with a new ebook (http://www.beutlerink.com/blog/wikipedia-communications-professional/) coming out of that panel. (Warning: email required to download the ebook.) Locally, many GLAM institutions are active contributors to Wikipedia, and COI takes a different flavor (http://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Get_started/GLAM_conflict_of_interest_guide) there. We'll talk about some of these new developments and how different communities handle (or should handle) these issues.

We'd also like to welcome any new members to the group, so please come prepared to introduce yourselves, whether you're new or a long-standing member!
