Announcing a new Meetup for Windy City Explorers!

What: Explore Andersonville!!

When: Saturday, March 20,[masked]:00 AM

Berwyn Red Line Stop
1121 W. Berwyn
Chicago, IL 60640

On Saturday, March 20th our adventures will take us to Andersonville on the City's north side. We'll meet at 10am at the Berwyn L stop. After a brief introduction to the neighborhood we will take a one-mile stroll through the quiet, tree-lined streets nestled between the busy thoroughfares of Broadway and Clark Streets. Our short stroll will end at Ann Sather's Restaurant at the corner of Foster and Clark Streets. For the culinary inclined, we can enjoy a nice brunch together before the next stage of this adventure.

After brunch (about 12:30 - 1pm), we'll send the group north from that intersection of Foster and Clark, turning the group loose to explore the vibrant 1/2 mile commercial stretch of Clark Street that is so characteristic of Andersonville. You can shop along the way on Clark from Foster to Bryn Mawr. Or, if you're not a shopper, you can spend your time in the Swedish American Museum right there on Clark Street.

Finally (my favorite part of the trip aside from brunch) will be a concluding rendezvous at the In Fine Spirits Wine Shop. This wonderful oasis offers a wine bar with appetizers and camaraderie that is unmatched anywhere in the city. I still need to confirm this, but I believe this Saturday will be one of their special wine tastings. This should offer a wonderful conclusion to our adventure and give you the opportunity to relax and mingle with our fellow explorers.

If you're running late, feel free to join us at any point along the route. You can reach me on my cellphone at (312) 265-6272. I also encourage you to trade contact information with others you've met in the group to make it easier for us to reconnect along this route and all of our trips. This is a good excuse to send each other a message, promote this event and become better acquainted.
