We are a group dedicated to providing a place for people interested in everything from serious figurative drawing and painting, music, literature, to trying drawing for the first time in a supportive, comfortable space. We are headquartered at 285 Washington Street, suite 102, in Somerville, Massachusetts, U.S.A.

If you want to explore and cultivate your creativity but art feels intimidating, come join us to create a community of people who feel the same! This session will begin with a demo and drawing tips from our Founder, Damon Lehrer, and continue with live figure drawing. If you want tips during the session, call Damon over for some 1-1 conversation! Snacks, drinks, music, and some basic supplies (paper, pencils) will be provided, so show up empty handed or with your favorite medium. This is for all skill levels - no experience necessary, and newbies encouraged!

Take a break from your day! Sit with paper, pencil, model, and soft music as the instructor guides you through meditative drawing. Damon is using the activity of drawing from a model to focus one's mind, and allow daily anxieties to drop away in a supportive, warm, artistic environment. The instructor is there to remind you to experience the process rather than worry about the product of your drawing, and to have compassion for yourself as you observe and record your perceptions on paper.

This one’s for all of you sewing/crocheting/knitting/textile lovers! Join us for a biweekly meet-up, BYOCP... (BYOCP = bring your own [unfinished or not-yet-started] creative projects!)
Do you have unfinished textile or sewing projects? Do you like to complain about how many unfinished projects you have? Do you wish you could commiserate with a fun group of people in a low-key setting?
Join us for a relaxing and social evening co-working session in the “living room” at the BFAC. Professional artist and fashion designer Mary Kahle of Kahle Studios will be on site to trouble-shoot and provide feedback!
All experience levels and ages welcome! Snacks will be provided. Timed breaks will be enforced. (LOL we don’t need to include this)

Join us for Wednesday night medium poses! After a few 5 minute warm-ups we proceed with 20 minute poses for the rest of the evening. Lighting and poses are selected to accentuate the musculoskeletal structure of the human form.
