The tile studio is located at 331 Grand St, between Marcy Ave and Havemeyer St, in Brooklyn. This location is near the Lorimer stop if the L train, the Metropolitan stop of the G train, and the Marcy stop on the J and M trains. Call me when you arrive, 917-860-8115. See you soon! Greetings Wired NY members. Please join our first ever ceramic tile workshop, held in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. There will be a demonstration of art tile techniques, and then you can try your hand at making several tiles. Tiles can be decorated in a number of ways; carved, embossed, textured, pierced, etc.
Clay, tools, and glaze will be provided. Just show up with your "work" clothes. We will get started at 6pm, and we will finish at about 8 pm. Feel free to BYOB, if that improves your artistic talents. This event is limited to 8 participants.
After your tiles are dry, (about a week), they will be fired in a kiln. Then the tiles are glazed, and fired a second time. After that, you can make arrangements to pick them up. Art tiles make perfect gifts, for friends, lovers, and mothers-in-law.
Location is very near the Lorimer Street L-train. Exact details will be emailed prior to the event.
