Details

Bad news, there won't be a meetup in February for WordPress DC. Great news, that's because we're having a special guest on January 31 -- Matt Mullenweg, the founding developer of WordPress.

Matt started blogging nearly a decade ago, during a summer spent in D.C. In 2003, he founded WordPress, which today powers more than 30 million websites. He moved from his native Houston to San Fransicso in 2004 to work at CNET Networks. He left in 2005 to found Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, as well as Gravatar, Akismet.com, VaultPress, and many other services.

He has been named one of PC World's Top 50 People on the Web, Inc.com's 30 under 30, and Business Week's 25 Most Influential People on the Web. His website is http://ma.tt (quite possibly one of the best domain hacks out there) and he's on Twitter at @photomatt (http://twitter.com/photomatt).

I'd like to extend a special thanks to our awesome new lineup of meetup sponsors:

Fathom Creative (http://www.fathomcreative.com/) is, as always, providing us awesome meetup space Ben Welch-Bolen of Site5 Hosting (http://site5.com) Thad Allender of Graph Paper Press (http://graphpaperpress.com) John F. Croston III (http://jfciii.com) of Accessibility DC

Be prepared for pizza, drinks, and plenty of chairs at this meetup. Hope to see you there!
