Post Formats and Why They'll Change the Way You Publish on the Web
Details
This month we welcome special guest Andrew Spittle, from Portland, Oregon. Andrew uses his journalism background and tech savviness to engineer happiness at Automattic as a support team lead on WordPress.com.
Andrew will be talking about post formats and why they'll change the way you publish on the web. They're a great way to vary the look and feel of your site depending on the type of content you're publishing as well as your style of blogging, and now that they've been in the wild for some time, there's some really clever real-world examples of what they can do.
As this is DC Week, we've decided to celebrate by asking a few local individuals to share their story on their business leveraging WordPress or contributing to the WordPress ecosystem. Thad Allender will be talking about his theme development company, Graph Paper Press, and we may have a few other guests. We know it's short notice, but if you are interested doing in a short demo, talk or Q&A along these lines, please contact me.
We'll end the night with a chance to connect those hiring and those looking, along with general announcements of related local events.
If you can, please bring some beer to restock the rolling meetup supply. See you on tonight at 7pm, at Fathom Creative, 1333 14th Street NW.
