October WordPress DC Meetup: Designing With Patterns

Details

NOTE: This meetup will be the third Tuesday, not our normal meeting date.

Join us as we welcome WordPress.com designer Chelsea "Chexee" Otakan who will be talking about Designing With Patterns.

The human brain is a complex pattern-recognizing machine. Our emotions and rationale work in tandem to quickly and efficiently recognize and react to these patterns. We’ll look at how WordPress uses patterns to make tasks easy and efficient for users and how you can take advantage of pattern recognition in your own designs.

Chelsea Otakan in her own words: I got involved with the WordPress community about two years ago and haven’t looked back since. I spend most of my time wrangling designs for Automattic and trying to keep up with what's going on in core. In the little time I spend not thinking about WordPress, I like to to play stringed instruments, go urban exploring, and travel through time.

Chelsea lives in San Francisco. We're very lucky to be hosting her at WordPress DC while she is in town for the jQuery Developer Summit (http://events.jquery.org/2012/developer-summit/). She blogs at chexee.me (http://chexee.me/) and she is @chexee (http://twitter.com/chexee) on Twitter.
