Our Meetups usually focus on building your WordPress website. This session will help you get traffic to your site and keep your visitors coming back for more.
We have two companies presenting that have built unique services that will help you grow your visitor traffic:
OUTBRAIN
John LoGioco and Kate Heffernan from Outbrain will talk a little bit about readers and how this all important group is frequently last on the totem poll when it comes to the blogosphere. Outbrain has opted to take a reader-centric approach in it’s product and that is reflected in many different facets of our work: the widget itself, the recommended stories and finally, our brand new ad program. Learn more about Outbrain here.
QWIDGET
Michael DiBenedetto will focus on generating audience conversations around your blog's content. Too often bloggers simply expect--or even worse, ask--for their visitors to engage by leaving a comment. But comment sections are too chaotic and unstructured your average reader. Mike will talk about some of the efforts to improve the experience of commenting but will mostly focus on his company's new product, the Qwidget. Specifically, he'll cover how it focuses conversation on your site and encourages more passive readers to participate. At the
end, every Wordpress.org user will be offered an invite to the Qwidget private beta program so they can begin using the Qwidget on their own blog immediately. Learn more about Qwidget here.
NOTE FOR WORDPRESS.COM USERS:
