What we’re about

A group of writers in and around Schaumburg, IL, dedicated to writing and perfecting our craft. We also give each other support in our writing efforts.
We are primarily a critique group that meets once a week.  We discuss up to four pieces of work submitted by our writers (no more than 3000 words of prose or 125 lines of poetry/verse) before end of day each Wednesday.  We each download the submitted works and mark up the writing for discussion on our meetup day (currently Saturday morning).

We discuss the writing submitted to the group with a definite focus on publication as a final goal for the work.  However, anyone seeking to find their voice through writing is welcome to request membership.  We want to focus on the writing itself.  Not so much on the subject of that writing.  We don't prohibit any subject, nor any style of writing.  Of course, we meet in a public setting, so we have to respect the venue somewhat.
Due to that venue, and to the size of submissions that we permit, we try to keep our membership under 40 writers.  If we don't see any activity from you in recent meetups, we may remove your membership.  But life happens.  We know that.  Even responding to a meeting with a No is still being active.  Should we remove your membership, you will be welcome to request to join again.
Message any of the organizers of the meetup if you have any questions.
