What is the Writers Support Group?

This is easy to answer, the Writers Support Meetup Group is a group for those who are:

  • Interested in writing as a hobby.
  • Interested in writing as a creative outlet.
  • Interested in writing for fun and profit. (I can't believe I wrote that :) )
  • Amateur Writers and Authors.
  • Newbie Writers and Authors.
  • Professional Writers and Authors.
  • Academic writers.
  • Bloggers.
  • Poets.
  • E-Media creative people.

We welcome all those interested in fiction both long and short, technology, non-fiction, the printed medium, the electronic medium, and anything else that uses the written word.

Please feel free to attend any or all of our seminars, workshops, and of course our weekly meetings.

We have a separate support website where you will find the following areas that may be of interest to you:

  • Private Forum area for dealing with individual questions.
  • Public Forum area for writers, authors, and would-be writers.
  • Private Mentoring area.
  • Interactive Fiction area, if you don't know what this is please come to a meeting or sign up to find out more.
  • Collaborative Fiction area, there are 3 forms of this.
  • Creative Writing.
  • Coaching.
  • Manuscript evaluation for publication.

New developments or upcoming offerings are announced on our support website, please keep up to date by visiting there as well.

Remember, all of these things are free of any and all charges and there is no obligation at all to partake of any of them, pass the word around to writers you may know who do not know about our group.

There are just added benefits in case people would like them. If anyone thinks they would like to know more please use the contact information listed on our about us page under Pages.

However, we are NOT a group for people just looking to promote or sell their personal services due to our members. We are also not a group for people seeking financial investors.

We do NOT permit the promotion of other groups since that contravenes the agreement we signed with Meetup.com and could potentially cause us legal complications. Please refrain from promoting outside groups (we will warn twice before you will be removed and banned).

If you have question we would be happy to answer them so don't be shy. :) It can only help you in the end, so no worries. :)

We meet in Westmount Square, at a table in the seating area of the shopping mall. Enter through the entrance on St.Catherine (between Taverna and the Royal Bank) then walk down the mall to the center axis and we are sitting at a table to your left. Usually over in the fenced in table area just beyond the escalators going down to the parking garage.

Westmount Square is located 1 block west of Alexis Nihon Plaza which is at the corner of Atwater and St.Catherine Street West. It is also 1 block west of the Atwater metro station.
