PC homestead tour, work party, pot luck at Doug and Kyungs' in Jaffrey

David Jacke will join us (we took our PCD course together in 1981). Design and site clearing began in 1982. House construction began in 1983 and a major planting of perennials in 1986 so many things have had a chance to mature, fail or succeed. We have dozens of tree fruit varieties, berries, nuts, kiwis, etc. laid out in a design reflecting permaculture intentions.

Activities may include:
• sheet mulching with wood chips
• compost pile construction (with biochar)
• crop harvesting
• the "tour"
• pot luck supper
• biochar making (without smoke hopefully!)
• etc., you name it

Come any time after 1PM, the sooner the better.

Informative, beautiful plants, great to see the mature setup, hear what worked or didn't

Just heard from David Jacke that he has come down with a cold and won't be able to join us tomorrow. Don't let that deter you. But you should come with your rain gear, or how ever you want to deal with getting wet!

    Hi All,
I hope you are able to make it to Doug and Kyung's this coming weekend. I'm sorry I'll be away that day. Unchangeable family plans I can't renege on. Our monthly Meet-up meeting (3rd Wednesday of the month --September 18th) needs a site to visit. If you have any interest in sharing your permaculture garden or project with the group, let me know. A revisit to the Emerson Brook Forest center is an option as well. Our meetings will move indoors beginning in October. Let's start thinking of topics we would like to covered during times of diminished light. Please consider presenting a permaculture topic or skill to the group.
    All the best, Valerie
