Hi, Ya'll,

I am a veteran of Playback and now am the activities director for a retirement center in Vancouver, WA. I would love to schedule a show here. And I would like to perform in that show (I would come to some rehearsals before hand to get to know your style.

Just for recognition's sake, I am a friend of Amy Baker and Bruce Bartlett. I told the story about the cyber stalker at your show in downtown Portland a couple of months ago. I ran the Columbia Willamette Playback company for a couple of years, studied with Jonathan, apprentised with Heartsparkle in Olympia for a year. I also teach improv and applied improv at a college and in my studio.

I'd also like to talk to you about doing a workshop for some of my improv students.

Feel free to call me at either[masked]=6898 ext 209 or at home[masked]-8536.

Thanks,

Dear Playback Community.  Thanks so much to all of you for becoming increasingly involved in Playback Theater.  I would like to personally invite all of you to our next public show:  April 7th at 7:30:  http://www.playbacktheaterpdx.com/_/Current_Shows.html

Many of you may not know that Playback Theater is involved in a lot more than just public shows.  We run workshops for the public, corporations, and non-profit groups.  We do private performances to deepen people's experiences on a variety of occasions:  Retirement party, birthdays, anniversaries, engagement, wedding funeral or memorial services, or any landmark event.

imagine the possibilities.  Instead of the traditional speeches, mingling, and eating, picture a performance where the guests of honor have stories told about them to be performed and appreciated by everyone.  Of course, the guests of honor can tell stories as well.

I've been involved in Playback for almost 20 years, and have been moved and wildly entertained at all kinds of private events.  One that stands out took place on the Big Island of Hawaii.

My friend Kalia is a wonderful woman who is a pivotal character in the Puna community in Hawaii.  Her community of over 50 people on the island, and her 10 siblings  attended a memorial service for her father.

I never knew her father, but I felt I knew him after performing all the stories.  it was moving, entertaining, heartfelt and everything in between.

Another Playback event that I will always remember happened in oakland California with Armond Volkas the director of Oakland's Living Arts Theater, and Susana Pendzik, Ph.D.,

The event was a Passover seder unlike one that I had ever attended.  We all participated in exercises expressing our personal journeys from oppression to freedom.  it was amazing.

Give this some thought, and consider the possibilities of the events in your life and how playback can enhance them.

Also, please tell all your friends about Playback to help us spread the word.  Invite them to attend with you on April 7th.

Invite them to join meetup, and like us on Facebook:

Thanks,

Dino
