Are you a humanist? Do you believe that human beings, through the use of reason, logic, and science, can lead happy, moral lives and improve the living conditions of their peers without a dependence on religion? If you enjoy socializing with like-minded people and would like to examine and discuss topics vital to our society's well-being, we invite you to come and participate in our roundtable discussions. And if you're concerned about religion's intrusive influence in American politics, threats to the civil liberties of non-religious citizens, and the dangers that warring faiths pose to world peace, we invite you to join us in our efforts to engage and educate the general public regarding these issues.
We highly recommend that our meetup members attend the continuing lectures and discussions on Science and Religion being presented by Mike Summers of the Humanist Fellowship of San Diego. The series is being held on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the small conference room of the El Cajon Library, and will continue throughout the month of November and conclude on the first Tuesday of December.
