MVVM and Xamarin Forms beyond the basics

You studied Xamarin Forms and Model-View-ViewModel, started working on your first real-world application and immediately begin to have many doubts:
-What is the best way to pair View and ViewModels?
-How should I treat dependencies?
-What about Messenger or DependencyService?
-How do I go from a UI Event to Command invocation?
-Should I stay with pure Xamarin Forms or do I need a 3rd party framework?
-What about complex navigation?
