This month, we are holding the first iOS 8 related meeting for Xcoders. Our speaker, Kim Ahlberg (from TIBCO) will talk about the new iOS 8 widgets in the notification center (accessing app functionality from outside the app in iOS 8)

Interactive Notification Center Widgets in iOS 8

With iOS 8 Apple introduces Notification Center Extensions, a.k.a. Widgets. We will explore the possibilities they present, their limitations, and how to implement them in our apps to give customers quick access to relevant information.

Kim Ahlberg is a full time iOS engineer with TIBCO Software’s Spotfire division developing a suite of data analysis apps. He has been developing iOS apps since the platform was called iPhone OS.

The meeting starts at 7pm and it will be held in the first floor conference room 101 of Thinkspace in downtown Redmond ( http://thinkspace.com/about/location/ )

Thinkspace is a 2-minute walk from the Redmond transit center. So if you’re coming over from downtown Seattle, you can take the bus (ST Express 545) to get here quickly.

Alternately, if you drive, parking is free.
