In this weekend training, Joe Barnett will share the wisdom of his long
time mentor Paul Grilley blended with his own method of hands-on
anatomical study. The training offers Yoga teachers and serious
students the tools to realize their own unique anatomy and the analytic
skills to help guide others into their own unique Alignment.
The workshop series includes lectures and slideshows on anatomical
variations. However, the bulk of the training is experiential and
interactive.

Yin Yoga is a very simple practice. We settle into an asana for 3-7 minutes and slowly relax our muscles to allow the deeper drier
tissues–the connective tissues that wrap our muscles and make up our
joint capsules–to be safely and therapeutically stretched, stimulated
and strengthened.

The mysteries of the energetic body go as deep as the spirit, as deep as the mysteries of life and death.

The study of the Chakras and Meridians is the study of the wheels and rivers of subtle energy that unite the physical, emotional and thinking Bodies of human existence.

The practice of Yin Yoga has the potential to release the blockage of Chi (energy) within stagnate Meridians. The practice of concentration has the potential to gather freed energy into- and help speed the evolution of- the Chakras that knit our Three Bodies into life as we know (and often do not know) it.

However, the education will be primarily through practice: a Yin Yoga sequence to strengthen, stretch and stimulate the connective tissues which provide the basic structure of the body’s form and the pathways for energetic rivers; followed by techniques toward sense withdrawal, concentration and absorption on the corresponding wheels of vibration.

We plant a seed of Yogic Consciousness in the Field of Partner/Ensemble Acrobatics and watch what grows.
The Moon practice includes therapeutic applications such as Flying Massage and Assisted Yin Yoga Stretching.
The Sun practice is dynamic and playful: sometimes full of vigour, inversions and core strength; sometimes effortlessly fluid and creative; and always a good time.
Both approaches develop connection, trust, communication.
