Re: [entrepreneur-200] Leadership mentoring

Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for your email. A great coach or mentor is invaluable to move your career/ life forward in leaps and bounds. Having someone to give you key information and guidance from day one would have been a fast track to success for all of us, if we'd been fortunate enough to know someone early on.

I guess if my father had been a businessman when I was growing up, my early expeditions into the entrepreneurial world would have been a lot easier, rather than making it up as I went along. Business is either a lucrative success or an expensive education. But I guess you could say the same about relationships equally well.

It's really motivational that you are passionate about this, and see from first hand just how bigger difference it has made in your life and career, especially now you have taken the step from being mentee to mentor.

Funnily enough, we all have the capacity to teach and be taught valuable information and skills all through our lives. You only have to think of what you would say to 'you' ten years ago, with all the experience you have now, to realise how immensely important and pivotal this would be.

You use the word 'duty' to describe your desire to mentor, as well as the deeply rewarding side of seeing others succeed. But I will go one step further. To know that your wealth and prosperity, is founded on the success, wealth and prosperity of others you have helped on their way to achieving their goals, or indeed financial freedom, is the most powerful base of energy to live your life from. Too many people see others as stepping- stone- consumers to their own material wealth, rather than other human beings who need help and guidance; as do we all.

If you or any other members of this group are interested in taking up and expanding the role of a mentor or coach, within a structure that's both progressive and financially rewarding, please let me know and I will be more than happy to send you an introduction to the subject.

Changing your own life has the habit of radiating out to others in a similar way, you just have to decide what messages you really want to send.

All the best

Hi all,

I've been working on an idea recently to provide leadership mentoring for those willing to push their career further at work.

A bit of background about me: I worked for more than 10 companies so far (in France/UK & Switzerland) as senior software engineer mostly but it's only a few years ago that I had the chance to find a mentor at work. He opened doors I didn't even know existed, I learnt so much about leadership from him, it was unbelievable. Since then I consider it to be my duty to mentor my directs at work on leadership and it's been one of the most rewarding experience so far.

I usually pick the people I coach based on abilities I see in them at work but I'm happy to help more people grow if they have an interest in progressing in their career and lives.

This is what my latest coachee said about me: “Jeremy was my coach and I’ve personally benefited from his powerful coaching. I’ve made progress both personally and professionally thanks to him.
With a strong knowledge in human behaviour and psychology, Jeremy is the best coach I could have asked for. I’m on better life path that maximizes my skills and allows me to handle my lesser qualities more comfortably.
I really cannot express how much I owe to him.”

Let me know if you would be interested

Kind regards,

Jeremy

PS: Thanks David for the suggestion!
