I am very busy this summer (looking for a new job), but I did write some comonadic example code a few months ago. And it is really pretty fun (and useful). So maybe you would like me to present this to you at the end of the summer.

Edited by Marc Sigrist: The meetup takes place on Thu, Sept 12, 2013 at 7 PM at restaurant Oase, Zurich Main Station. It's the restaurant used by the station employees. Please take this announcement with you to make sure you find it. Looking forward to seing you soon!

Guys, of course I was quite disappointed myself. It is like cooking, sometimes the dish fails. I made the mistake of writing text to prepare this one instead of focusing on drawing figures. Every few years I make the same mistake and fall flat on my face: My talks really work best when I have visualized their content before.
Obviously a better example choice would have gone a good way to save the content. Thinking of it now I could have done some nice graphics, for example by creating svg code from the tree. That would have been a good way to show how a supporting monad would have come in handy to create a small turtle language layer to help with the svg creation.

Having missed the intro to monads session I was certainly at a disadvantage coming into this session (perhaps some required reading for those new to monads would have helped?). Yes, it was a difficult topic, but I'd have hoped for more clearly presented basic concepts and examples of potential application areas.

A difficult topic, high expectations after the into do monads talk not met. Better examples, less code and more pictures could have helped to understand the topic better.

Hi James, thanks for the suggestion. Yes, that would be a good topic. I will contact you directly to discuss further details and will then organize time and place.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
