Functors and Applicative Concepts in F#

  • Nov 22, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • Restaurant Oase

Hi all,

as mentioned in a previous mail, this presentation will be given by Gustavo Leon. It can be regarded as a simplified, step-by-step approach who will finally lead to the reintroduction of monads. It matches nicely the advanced presentation about comonads recently given by James Litsios.

(Words such as "monad", "comonad", "monoid", etc. come from the Haskell tradition; in F#, all these abstractions are called "computation expressions" and are implemented in a unified/standardized way, using "computation expression builders").

The meetup takes place on Fri, Nov 22, 2013 at 7 PM at restaurant Oase, Zurich Main Station (same as last time). It's the restaurant used by the station employees. If you have never been there, please take this document with you to make sure you find it.

A fee of CHF 10.- will be charged to cover expenses.

See you soon and best regards,

Marc
