Zydeco and Whiskey River Jitterbug Dance Workshop .

Greg Benusa with partner Karen Redding will be teaching Whiskey River Jitterbug as well a Zydeco workshop on Sunday, January 23rd from 2-4:30pm at the Golden Sails in Long Beach.

The Whiskey River Jitterbug is done to Zydeco and Cajun music and is based in Swing type dance patterns. You can find the Whiskey River Jitterbug Louisiana Dance halls and festivals across the country as it is growing. Many of it's turns are jitterbug based 6 count steps that we will break down the basic's so you don't need to know Cajun, Zydeco or Swing.

The Whiskey River portion of the workshop we be the first 1 1/2 hours and Zydeco will be the last hour. The Zydeco portion will cover Intermediate level slides and styles found in Louisiana as well as some new Zydeco moves not covered before.

It's rare to have the Golden Sails allow us to do a workshop and I don't get up to the area often so I am looking forward to sharing as much as possible.

Whiskey River Jitterbug Beginning and Intermediate - 2:00 - 3:30pm
Zydeco Intermediate - 3:30-4:30pm
