TAMAGAWA JOSUI Mini-Walk with English guide!玉川上水を英語ガイドで楽しむ ＆英語多読紹介

Do you know that the river-like water path running in the north of the dormitory is NOT a river? It’s called Tamagawa Josui and designated as a national historic spot. Why? If you’re curious to know more, please come join our Walk & Chat event!

You will know the secret of Tamagawa Josui that has a 360-year history directly connected to Edo city. Yes, it provided drinking water to Edo as well as Tokyo.

Note: Part① will be cancelled in the case of heavy rain. Go to Tuda Community Center instead.

Meeting place and time:

Part① 13:00 at the entrance of Kodaira citizen general gymnasium(Kodaira Shimin Sogo Taiikukan)

Let’s walk along Tamagaw Josui from around Takanodai Station to Tuda Library/Community Center. Members will explain brief history and interesting tips about Tamagawa Josui Canal in English.

Part② 14:15 at Tuda Library/Community Center(Study Room 3) (Tuda Kominkan)

Let’s　enjoy chatting with local Kodaira people both in Japanese and English .
