Yellowstone Backcountry Trek through Geyser Basin- 18miles out and back

Details

Join us for a 18 mile trek through the back country geyser basins of Yellowstone, where no boardwalks or crowds interrupt the steaming, bubbling, bursting landscape, where the earth really comes alive. Getting to Shoshone’s geysers and hot springs is half the fun: We'll hike deep into the wilderness, crossing the Continental Divide at 8,010-foot Grants Pass before dropping to the basin on the edge of Shoshone Lake. This ain’t no Old Faithful area: We'll experience Yellowstone’s thermal zones as they were in the 1800s. We will camp at Basin Bay Point Friday 13th night (watchout for Jason) and then camp at Lone Star Saturday. Heading back home Sunday morning.
Everyone will meet Friday 13th 9:30 am Pacific Time at the Lone Star Trail Head parking lot. We will hike 9 miles to the campsite 8R5 Friday. Then Saturday afternoon we will hike back 6 miles to Lone Star camp. We have 6 more permits available for Basin Bay camp. Right now there's 10 spots available for Lonestar. If we need more spaces we can look at other nearby spots. The sooner we book things the more availability.
To secure your place, please Venmo $20 to Kathy Bryce.Zion @kathyKathy2020 by July 15th. This is to cover permits. Let us know if your interested and we can discuss plans further. I can pick up all the permits from Belcher Back country office Friday morning before we hike.
