Looking to take up running for the first time but don’t know where to start?
Have you tied up your shoelaces after procrastinating for hours on end, just to find yourself aimlessly running for 15-20 minutes with no end goal in sight?
Have you scrolled through the internet trying to find running sessions and workouts to undertake only to be overwhelmed by the amount of information available?
Have you gotten to the point where you’re simply fed up after a couple of runs because you feel like you’re not getting any perceived benefits?
Most importantly, have you refrained from taking up running solely because you are/were too nervous to put yourself out there and felt unable to really give running a go!
Taking place once a week, Andrew Jenkinson (800m Track Runner) will be conducting a ‘Basics of Running’ training session for people of all ages, level of capability and experience.
Location: Santry Demesne Entrance (Opposite Autoglass)

Structure
• Brief overview of running session planned for the day
• Guided Warm-Up (Dynamic stretching & Easy build up run)
• Running Technique demoed through strides with Andrew
• Main Phase: Timed Intervals conducted with Andrew
• 1 Minute of running followed by 1 minute of recovery walking
• Recovery warm down (easy run to decrease heart rate)
• Static Stretching (To alleviate tightness in the body)
• Follow up FAQ’s
• Nutrition for Running
• How to achieve loss of fat
• How to go from zero running to full running (30+ mins)
