UPDATE: VENUE has changed to Little Italy to Victoria Phoenix Artist Loft. She's a local entrepreneur/artist who has been kind enough to donate her flat for the evening. Why you ask? Chef Jon Ashton has suffered a severe injury to his back and will be unable to host us at his Parma Barabicu Smokehouse. THAT SAID, he is still sending along their awesome BBQ for our enjoyment at the loft. Since Jon is in no shape to host us we will have a redux of #VRBQ at Barabicu Smokehouse itself at some point in the near future when Jon heals.

As always, our social meetups are an opportunity to play with technology, share experiences, and for those who want to be more active in helping to grow CLEVR, an opportunity to work together towards that goal in a non office environment type space.

Here is what's on deck for #VRBQ with tasty eats from our friends at Barabicu.

CLEVRLAB

Several team members are meeting up this week to tour the future home of the demo space and content creation studio that we will call CLEVRLAB down at 1163 East 40th Street. Folks from the Cleveland Film and the Cleveland Game Developers are going to tour the facility and we will report back to the group on thoughts about how we can use this as a collaborative engineering, design and content production studio in addition to allowing it to serve as a consistent space for product, service demonstrations and future speakers.

#CLEVRCON (or CLEVR CONFERENCE)

For those that have interest we will also be discussing the formation of a committee to chair CLEVR's AR+VR+AI technology conference that we were hoping to launch in late September 2017 right here at 1163 East 40th Street downtown in the Ariel International Center where CLEVRLAB will call home.

2017 CLEVR Experiences

We will also discuss some group travel and possible ways to get discounts to key Augmented and Virtual reality conferences in 2017 such as:

• Game Developers Conference (http://www.gdconf.com/) Feb 27-Mar 3, San Francisco

• IEEE Virtual Reality (http://ieeevr.org/2017/)March 18-22, Los Angeles

• SVVR - Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Expo (http://svvr.com/conference-expo/) March 29 - March 31, San Jose

• VRLA Expo (http://www.virtualrealityla.com/)April 14-15, Los Angeles

• Augmented World Expo (http://www.augmentedworldexpo.com/)May 31- Jun 2, Santa Clara

• VRToronto (http://conference.virtualreality.to/) June 24-26, Toronto

• VIA Festival (http://svvr.com/conference-expo/)- October TBD Pittsburgh

Please provide us any feedback on any other topics you might like to discuss. We are always treating this as an open forum and the above is just a guide on where we would like to steer things.

As always, feel free to bring your own rig (HIGHLY advised!!!). Barabicu is providing food at no cost to CLEVR members at our meetup but donations to help the group continue this mission are always appreciated.

See you all soon,

Reynaldo and Tom
