Intro to JavaScript

Did you miss last month's class with Brian? Not a problem! Join developer Michael Ferretti as he demonstrates introductory concepts to JavaScript at Postlight!

With HTML and CSS alone, the internet would be a boring place; websites would be static pages, unable to do anything at all. JavaScript is the language that powers the web and makes web pages into applications with real functionality. Essentially, with JavaScript, you can build anything. This is our introductory workshop for JavaScript - no prior knowledge is needed to attend. We will introduce you to the basics of writing JavaScript and walk you through building your first dynamic web application.

Bring a laptop with Google Chrome and a text editor for writing code (we recommend Sublime Text or Code Pen, which can be downloaded as a free trial.)

5:30 - 6:00 PM: Arrive and network.
