S01E01 - Welcome to Angular Ann Arbor

Details

Welcome to Angular Ann Arbor! This is our inaugural meetup. We will have a welcome to set expectations for the meetup, find out what attendees want to get out of it, address timing, location, call for proposals, format, and more. There will be a short round table so that we can learn what types of sessions attendees are most interested in for the future!

We'll also hear the following talk:

Title: Angular Components: Life Beyond Init and Destroy
Speaker: Kim Maida, Angular GDE and AngularA2 meetup organizer

Description: In this talk, I will share tips and tricks for building powerful components with lifecycle hooks, templating techniques, and practical use cases. We’ll go deeper than the most well-known and commonly-used strategies: what lies beyond ngOnInit, ngOnDestroy, inputs, and outputs? We’ll learn how and when to use other lifecycle hooks to monitor and manipulate component templates. I’ll dig into template reference variables, NgIfElse, declarative templating with the async pipe, view children, element ref, content projection, and more. Go deeper with components in this talk and come out knowing how to leverage more advanced techniques in your Angular applications!

We'll be meeting at Cahoots, a tech + coworking space that is home to several Ann Arbor tech companies including Trove and Nutshell. Please enter the building at 210 East Huron across from the Hands-On Museum, near Kerrytown. There is ample parking in the area, both on the streets and in several nearby parking structures.

There is an attendance limit of 20 people, so make sure you RSVP. If you RSVP but then later find that you cannot make it, PLEASE cancel your RSVP so that someone else can have an opportunity to take your place!
