For those who might have missed news of this event in our regular meet-up threads, we thought it would be good to post a separate event listing to this group - even though it's actually happening in Byron Bay - not here in Brisbane.

This one day Drupal conference or 'Drupal Camp' has a broad focus - for those with any level of involvement with Drupal. From advanced themers, coding dev's or server jockeys - right through to beginners at web-building who have just an emerging interest! As per our Brisbane Drupal meetup - and in the explicit international flavour of Drupal - we put a priority on welcoming all and thus building community. Those who live near-by in northern NSW or in south-east Qld are especially encouraged to attend. Remember that for those of us in Brisbane it is only a 1hr 45min drive from Brisbane to Byron Bay. This Drupal Camp is actually being organised by members of the Brisbane Drupal Meetup. Congrats to the Camp's main organiser, Vlad, and to the Camp's sponsor, Technocrat - a firm that is clearly at the highest end of Australia's Drupal development companies. The day will have a collaborative focus, with the goal not only of learning more about Drupal at all different levels, but of achieving this by sharing your Drupal experience and meeting others locally who are part of our broader Drupal community.

Sessions Sessions will cover various aspects of Drupal and web development, including:-

  • workshops on building websites using DrupalPanel;

  • running your business with Drupal;

  • content management strategies;

  • development tutorials;

  • sector focus sessions (incl SME's; education; government and not-for-profit);

  • new and upcoming directions in Drupal for both frontend and backend.

Cost: - Many would know that - thanks to the sponsorship we have achieved - this event is now free.

Refund emails have now gone out to all of those who had already paid! Refund payments will be processed into your accounts in the next day or so. (Please advise us at the Camp if your refund has not been processed by then and we will follow-up.) Numbers:

There are some spaces still available - but we are conscious of the size limit of our venue - which for legal/fire-safety reasons restricts our numbers. First-come best-dressed!

Registration:

Registration is via the Camp website:

http://byronbay2015.drupalcamp.net.au/

Please don't sign up if you are not reasonably definite about your attendance - as numbers for catering have to be submitted in advance.

NB: Whilst registration is only via the camp website, it will be useful for Meetup members to also RSVP to the Camp here, so that we are sharing details about who is going. This will facilitate arranging ride-sharing or an evening-before pub get-together in Byron. Ride-sharing: - Outbound: whilst the CBD is a central place for those starting their drive from there or from the northside it wouldn't work well for others. So Coomera (or Varsity Lakes) rail station might be more broadly accessible for both the riders to get a train to, and for the drivers to very quickly get into from the freeway and easily back on to freeway again to continue south. (eg. on Sunday morning the train departing Central at 6:29am arrives in Coomera at 7:32am for 1hr 15min drive to Byron from there.) - Return: I suspect lifts back on Sunday night will be easy to achieve - as most of us will have to be back for work on Monday morning. Accommodation:

  • As a one day event we've arranged nothing regards accommodation. However a number of us are taking advantage of the event to head out on Friday - hopefully before the traffic - and thus spend the weekend in Byron.
