More than a book group. This stand-alone series is dedicated to a super slow journey through Proust's Swann's Way. The purpose of which is to grant everyone sufficient space for personal reflection, writing, rereading, and investigating the myriad of literary and artistic references that abound in the novel.

As a compliment to this reading project, I encourage everyone to record their reflections on the novel and any personal insights that may arise while reading in a journal. A portion of our sessions will be dedicated to those interested in sharing some of their writing with the group. (Of course, journaling and sharing your writing is not required — just highly encouraged.)

Our first session will cover Part One — Cambray (approximately 50 pages). I will be using the Lydia Davis translation, but please take your time in choosing one that best suits you (if you are not fortunate enough to read French). Reading Proust is very much like attempting to scale a mountain, so make sure that you select a translation that is most appealing and compelling to you.

Last of note: I am accepting donations to keep this page under my "ownership." The cost is approximately 70 euros a year (scandalous). Of course, donations are never required in order to participate.

À bientôt!
