REST with the ASP.NET Web API m/Mark Seemann

Vi er veldig glade for igjen å få besøk av Mark Seemann, en av de beste foreleserne som har besøkt NNUG Bergen. Denne gangen skal han snakke om REST med ASP.Net Web API:

REST – isn’t it just XML over HTTP? How hard can it be? Do you really need an entire framework for that?

REST is more than XML over HTTP, so it can be convenient to build on top of an existing framework. ASP.NET (http://asp.net/) Web API is a new framework from Microsoft, making it easier to develop RESTful services in .NET.

In this session, you’ll get an introduction to REST itself, how the ASP.NET (http://asp.net/) Web API fits in, how it works, and how to write automated tests against your services. After a short theoretical treatment of REST, the main emphasis in the talk will be on practical code examples.

Mark Seemann is the inventor of AutoFixture (https://github.com/AutoFixture/AutoFixture) and the author of Dependency Injection in .NET (http://affiliate.manning.com/idevaffiliate.php?id=1150_236). He is a professional software developer and architect living in Copenhagen, Denmark, and currently an independent advisor. He enjoys reading, playing the guitar, drawing, good wine, and gourmet food.
