Urbanopolis Play Testing

The Aardvark Sam Company is seeking Play Testers for our new board game, Urbanopolis. Urbanopolis is a property development game, where participants will have to bid on properties and build wisely in order to maximize their own rents. The game follows a similar theme as Monopoly, but has more German-style gaming mechanics, where resource management and prudent strategies will determine the winner. Game length is currently projected at around 75 – 120 minutes.

The game board is an 8x8 grid, with 64 different properties to bid on. Players will have to bid at auction to win properties. Once obtaining properties, players can build single-family homes, townhouses, mid-rises, and high-rises. Players will also have to be concerned about land value taxes, particularly if they leave properties vacant.

As the game begins, land values range from 1 to 4. Certain modifiers such as parks and subway stops can increase the land values, producing higher rents over time. The player that finishes the game with the highest income (rents minus taxes) wins.

First testing will be @ 12:00 PM
Second testing will be @ 3:00 PM
