In this workshop, we will explore how to track user experiences in Google Analytics (https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/). First, we’ll build an understanding of an analytics campaign and what should and should not be tracked. With this information, we’ll be able to set up goals within Google Analytics.

Once we have goals in place, we’ll work to improve conversions through learning how to create effective A/B tests. Lastly, we’ll explore tools outside Google Analytics to gain a broader insight into the user experience we are creating on the web.

What we’ll do:

• Learn the differences between Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (https://www.google.com/analytics/tag-manager/)

• Define conversion goals in Google Analytics

• Design an A/B test to measure conversions

• Set up custom reporting

• Examine other web analytics tools
