"What's life *really* like as a dev?"

NOTICE: In light of the recent safety advice issued by the UK government for Covid-19, LevelUp Notts will be hosted online for the foreseeable future.

Our hope is that this will still allow people to attend virtually and from the safety of their own homes. The meetup will be streamed to Youtube Live, so Q&A sections and discussion panels will still be happening in real time.

The Youtube link will be posted across all of our social media channels, and also here on the event page no later than 24 hours before the meetup.

“What does a developer do every day?” is about the same as asking “how long is a piece of string?”

You might be working on a new platform.

You might be sprint planning.

You might not even look at code.

Point is, when you’re new to all of this, it’s tough to get a straight answer – and that makes it hard to figure out if you’re even going into the right career.

This month is a big’un. In fact, it’s SO BIG, that I’m in danger of being kicked out of the Rebel Recruiters office because I won’t shut up about how excited I am.

We’ve got four amazing speakers in Jess White, Shaun Hare, David Wood, and one more yet to be announced (it's a surprise!), coming in to talk all about their journey as devs (and beyond), the challenges they’ve faced, how they dealt with all those weird “skills” that nobody tells you you’ll need to have, and so much more.

To top it all off, after we’ve chowed down on pizza, there’ll be a Comic-Con-Style panel at the end where you can fire off questions about what life is really like as a dev.
