18:30 – 18:50: What Every Web Developer Needs to Know About HTTP/2, Ido Flatow
HTTP/2 keeps most of HTTP 1.1’s syntax intact, but drastically changes the way data is transported between the client and the server. We will discuss the key performance improvements around pushing new content and multiplexing requests, header compression, and more.
Ido Flatow is a Cloud Platform Customer Engineer at Google, helping customers determine if Google Cloud Platform is right for them. Ido has more than 20 years of experience in web and cloud application development, architecture, and troubleshooting.
18:50 – 19:10: Analyzing Node.js Memory Leaks, Sasha Goldshtein
Like any garbage-collected runtime, Node.js is no exception: memory leaks can form from having dangling references to objects you don’t need anymore. In this short talk, we’ll see how to look at Node memory usage over time, how to capture heap snapshots, and how to analyze them in Chrome Developer Tools.
Sasha Goldshtein is the CTO of Sela Group, Microsoft MVP and Regional Director. Sasha specializes in troubleshooting, performance optimization, and diagnostics across various operating systems and runtimes.
19:10 – 19:40: Introduction to Docker for Web Developers, Ofir Makmal
Docker and containers have taken over the world as a compact, standard software delivery platform. In this talk we’ll explore how Docker containers work, and understand the fundamental commands for creating, running, and deploying containerized applications.
Ofir Makmal is a Senior Architect at Sela Group, working on cloud and mobile application development, container orchestration solutions, and modern development frameworks. Ofir has more than 15 years of experience with software optimization, production debugging, team leadership and architecture.
