Dartmoor Guided Walk - Cullever Steps - 6km
Details
Dartmoor is well known for its rugged beauty. The wild moorland is an incredible 368 square miles of history, wildlife, mythology and adventure.
What better way to explore the largely untamed landscape than with an experienced guide? Let us show you the best of Dartmoor – unique flora and fauna, jutting granite Tors, captivating tales of superstition and folklore, and a landscape shaped over thousands of years.
This walk will begin crossing the East Okement River at Cullever Steps, followed by an exploration of lesser-known spots (expect hidden wild swimming sites and ancient stone circles), finishing with an exhilarating hike along the Belstone Tor ridge.
The journey will explore Bronze Age history, moorland flora and fauna, and plenty of Dartmoor’s famous granite Tors.
This will be a circular route, led by Mountain Leader Richard, which should last approximately 4 hours. The distance is approximately 6km with an ascent of around 190m.
Well behaved dogs are more than welcome.
