Writing for Self Discovery Half Day Workshop : Personal Maps

Details

Explore a new way to learn about yourself.

We are offering three Writing for Self Discovery workshops on the theme of personal maps.

Together, we will use therapeutic creative writing to explore aspects of the self / ourselves, supporting you to gain new perspectives through writing and discussion.

Workshop one: Starting points, home and safe harbours (THIS WORKSHOP - Sat 29th Feb - morning)
Workshop two: Fellow travellers and companions along the way (Sat 2nd May - morning)
Workshop three: New destinations, paths and finding a route (Sat 13th June - Full day)

You can choose to attend one, two or all three of these workshops. There will be links between them, but they can equally serve as stand alone events.

We will use poetry, prompts and guided exercises to explore these themes in a safe, respectful and creative environment.

All you need is a notepad, a pen and a willingness to be open to writing in a group.

The course will be facilitated by qualified and BACP registered counsellors, Sarah Richings and Lucy Watt.

Participants who have attended our other workshops are welcome to attend.

This workshop is limited to 10 participants. £45.

Venue is disabled accessible for the first two workshops.

Please let us know of any other reasonable adjustments we can make to support you to be able to participate in the event.

Please bring a notebook and pen or pencil.

Although the workshop is being held in the Minster Centre, we do not have any connections with the Centre, and we trained at the Metanoia Institute.

About the facilitators:

Sarah Richings is a BACP registered humanistic counsellor and has trained in facilitating creative writing for therapeutic purposes. She is also a counsellor in a university setting, and previously in a bereavement service. Sarah has also worked in further education as a teacher and adviser.
