The article for this reading club is “Scheduling In Go” by Ardan Labs, a software engineering firm focused on providing Go training for other companies. The author, William Kennedy, is a managing partner of the firm and is a co-author of the book “Go In Action”. He is also a founding member of GoBridge and works with individuals and groups who want to level up their Go knowledge and coding skills.

The article is a three part series which explains how Go manages goroutines in multithreaded programs. We will primarily be discussing Part 2, which explains how the Go scheduler works. We suggest starting with Part 1 if you want more context on how the operating system scheduler works.

Similar to past reading clubs, we will have an open discussion about the article and share our opinions, related personal experiences, likes, and dislikes.
