Photographer/model shootout!
Hosted by Alt Modeling Workshops
Details
Hey Everybody. I know I've been promising to start hosting some events. So here it is!! I'm collaborating with Little Ben Productions and hosting a Photographer/Model event at Haley's in Everett. We'll basically have the whole place as our playground starting at 7:30pm. I have three Alien Bee setups and I'll set up three stations there. Photographers and models can rotate between stations. I also encourage you to bring your own lights and set up your own little station!! I only have three Alien Bee's and won't be able to provide lights for everybody. I'll have photographers and models rotate in 15 minute sessions unless there isn't a line. I'll also be there giving instructions and assistance with the lights for those who have not used them.
The bar will be open during this event. We can shoot all night until the bar closes. There will be a few bands playing later in the evening. I recommend getting there a little early so we won't have to yell over the music when trying to work with each other. We'll have our own section of the bar where only models and photographers are allowed and we are free to use any public area of the bar.
I encourage the photographers and models to exchange contact info. I can not be responsible to get photos to all the models. Although, I may facilitate it by starting a shared gallery somewhere. Probably Flickr (unless somebody has a better suggestion).
Models: Please contact me and I'll put you on the guest list. You MUST contact me before the event to get on the list!!! Styling is up to you! I do not have an MUA, hairstylist, or wardrobe for this event. Be creative! Be bold! I asked if we could have one of the green rooms for a changing area. But please don't leave anything valuable back there!
Photographers: You'll have to pay the cover, which is ten bucks. But that's not a bad deal considering we'll have the whole place to use as a studio and there will be plenty of great models to work with. Please bring lights if you have them!!!
The place is a bar, so you'll have to be at least 21 years old. But that also means you'll be able to get a few cold drinks and enjoy music later in the evening.
A few final words on ettiquete:
1: Please respect the models. Which means not pushing boundaries and asking them to dress or pose outside of their comfort zone. If you would like a model to pose in a certain way just ask. You don't need to grab models and start moving them around. You also don't need to adjust their clothing for them. Just ask and let them do this themselves.
2: Respect other photographers. Which means not shooting over their shoulder. When a model is working with a photographer that his his/her time with the model. Please wait until they are done working together. Don't shoot over their shoulder and steal "the shot". Also, when two photographers are working with a model it's confusing for the model and he/she won't know who to look at or who to listen to for direction. Too many flashes are distracting too.
3: Respect the venue. Uh, I don't know exactly what that entails. Just buy beer, have a good time, and be nice to people!
If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
Thanks
ERIK
