Sunset Hike to Avalanche Lake in Glacier NP!

Let's do a sunset hike to Avalanche Lake in GNP. It is rated as a moderate hike by alltrails with 757 feet of elevation gain over 5.9 miles. It will take 2.5-3 hours to complete and no dogs are allowed in the park. This is a very wooded hike and should be shaded for the most if not all of the way so don't let the August heat scare you off. Also, we won't be starting the hike until 6 pm after meeting at the carpool lot at 5 pm.

There are no vehicle reservations required for park entry after 3 pm so we will meet at the carpool lot at 5 pm near the Starbucks at Hwy 2/Hwy 206 located here on google maps 48.36355297229192, -114.14929735300541. It is roughly a 1 hour drive from the carpool lot to the trailhead so expect to be hiking around 6 pm until 8:30-9 pm. We will have to split the car fee between each vehicle's riders ($10 each per rider if we have 3 riders).

Max attendee limit of 8 on this one so only 2 cars are needed at the most, we all know parking can be challenging in the park. Thanks!
