What's So Great About... MONGODB

This topic is part of our ongoing, "What's so great about" series. The presentation requires no prior knowledge of the topic, but it is primarily targeted to developers with coding skills. However, we do welcome startup founders and business people who want to find out more about the topic and gauge developer interest. By the way, recruiters and business people are always given a chance to introduce themselves at the start of our meetings.

"MongoDB" - I ran into Nuri at the IMVU event and he told me he had been working with MongoDB and was very, very happy with its advantages of a straight relational database. Unlike an RDB, MongoDB is an object database, so there is much, much less data access coding populating objects and then saving object data back to the db. It also scales really well. I played devil's advocate taking the part of SQL Server, but Nuri convinced me that MongoDB is well worth taking a serious look at. So I invited him to speak at our January meeting.

Nuri has presented before at LADUG and his talks have been very well attended and well received, so RSVP early. He is thorough and hits right at the points developers and architects care about most. Nuri gives a great overall coverage of a topic but can also handle deep technical dives no problem.
