100 Women Who Care Santa Fe presents Wings of Action, a fundraising event for the documentary film, She Cried That Day, and to bring awareness, advocate, and honor those fighting for justice and refusing to allow their loved ones to remain invisible in the eyes of the justice system.

The evening’s event includes:

  • Panel discussion with Tiffany Jiron, Executive Director of Coalition To Stop Violence Against Native Women; Darlene Gomez, Esq. representing MMIWR families; and Meskee Yanabah Yatsayte, Founder of Navajo Nations Updates and MMIWR advocate
  • Performance by Native artist singer/songwriter Ishi
  • Silent art auction, painting by Roberta Begaye courtesy of Edition ONE Gallery and print by April Holder
  • Trailer for the documentary film, She Cried That Day
  • Q&A with She Cried That Day film Producer/Director, Amanda Erickson of the San Carlos Apache of the White Water Clan

In New Mexico, Native American Women have the highest rate of HOMICIDE among all racial and ethnic groups. Albuquerque and Gallup are among the TOP TEN cities in the U.S. with the highest number of MMIWR cases.
