There are 1001+ things to see/do/experience in the DC area ... Grab your camera - let's go explore!
Many thanks to John MC for starting this group - awesome idea and right were I am with exploring what DC has to offer. There is SO much to do in this area from the pure basic stuff (food, movies, parks), to national events and exhibits (government buildings, art galleries and events, Smithsonian, other museums, festivals, etc), to more eclectic things (wine/beer/chocolate festivals, drag queen & burlesque shows, off-the-wall events).
If I'm interested in something, I'll post events. If you like the idea of this group and don't see something you want to do, suggest it or become an event host.
I will not charge dues for this group but encourage donations once in a while (every little bit helps!). If you RSVP for something and something else comes up, please remember to un-RSVP so your spot can be filled by someone else. I get it - we are all busy ... but I urge you to take a little time out of your schedule to have some fun too :-)
Such a fun event!! I'm setting this up as a monthly event but please be aware that the date WILL change each month.
For those of you wondering what this is all about:
A People's Choir DC is a casual sing-along. It isn't a performance; it's a group effort. We play the actual songs (not the vocal-less karaoke version), and you can stand around or sit or dance...and sing.
If you don't know a song, no worries - make up the tune as you go or just sit it out. There is no sheet music at A People's Choir, only song lyrics, which we'll provide (along with the music videos).
We don't care about your singing ability, just your enthusiasm - and we're pretty flexible in that area as well. Just show up and enjoy yourself! It's free.
We'll be up on the second floor DC9 Nightclub. Singing starts around 7:30pm, but come early to enjoy the roof and happy hour. The big, sliding door halfway to the roof should be open around 7:00pm. Bring friends, or come alone. We'll display music videos with lyrics. No singing abilities necessary!
