Join me for a summit hike to Birkenhead Peak, a challenging and rewarding hike near Pemberton. This 12 km round-trip route involves steep elevation gain, rocky terrain, and some route-finding. Along the way, we'll traverse alpine ridges and meadows with panoramic views. From the summit, enjoy breathtaking vistas of Mount Sampson, Birkenhead Lake, and the surrounding Coast Mountains.

ATTENDANCE
Please RSVP only if you are certain you can attend. If your plans change after RSVPing, kindly update your response to ‘Not Going’ as soon as possible, so can accomodate others on the waitlist.

THE DRIVE & CARPOOL
• If you need a ride (or have vehicle & can drive), please post in the comments or let me know.
• Gas contributions are estimated at $8–10 per hour of driving. Please ensure you pay your driver.

HIKING ESSENTIALS
- Sturdy hiking boots with great traction
- Daypack
- Microspikes
- Hiking Poles
- Navigation: GPS, physical map, compass, Garmin Inreach
- Bear spray (recommended in BC wilderness)
- First aid kit, sunscreen, sunglasses, headlamp
- Emergency gear: space blanket, whistle, multi-tool
- Warm layers, waterproof and shell
- Food: high‑energy snacks & lunch
- Water (2-3L)

YOUR HEALTH & SAFETY
• Please ensure you are in good health and physically prepared to do this hike.
• Keep in mind that everyone has different fitness levels. Do your own research on the hike to confirm you are confident and capable of joining.
Emergencies: It’s highly recommended that you inform a family member or close friend of your hiking plans. Please provide your emergency contact information to the organizer before the hike.

INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
By joining this hiking activity (the “Activity”), I accept all risks involved, including injury, weather, terrain, and wildlife. I release 101 Hiking Vancouver, its organizers, volunteers, and Meetup from any liability for injury, illness, death, or damage, even if caused by negligence.
I agree to take full responsibility for my health, follow all rules, and cover any claims brought against the Organizers due to my actions. I also allow photos or videos taken during the Activity to be used for promotional purposes.
I have read and understand this agreement and accept it voluntarily. It is binding on me and my heirs.
